    In Visual Studio Professional 2019 version 16.6.1, the user choice made using the GitHub dropdown for the repository location fails to be followed, but, as long as the Preview Feature "New Git user experience" is not enabled, the behavior can be worked around by installing the "GitHub Extension for Visual Studio".
